I've been meaning to ask you.
 
Do you have one of them new fangled automated screen cleaning gizmachinos?
 
Last time I cleaned a screen we did it by hand and the now ubiquitous stretchy stuff gloves weren't available to mere mortals.
 
It also took so long that the cleaning process more or less determined the economics of a short run order.

I have a manual ink washout tank filled with mineral spirits.
 
I have a dip tank filled with an emulsion striping solution that can hold 4/5 screens at a time. Takes about 20 minutes of soaking time and the emulsion washes away with a medium pressure water hose.
 
I get my oldest grandson in to do those jobs (usually on Saturday). Occasionally I'll wash out a few screens when I absolutely need them.

I used to do both hand cut emulsion and photo emulsion.
 
We got so accustomed to photo emulsion that we could expose the film outside in the South Florida daylight using our wrist watch and some sheets of glass for contact pressure. (We had a regular vacuum light table as well)
 
That was before digital image editing was available to us and stuff making the color separation sheets was the hard part. Orthographic film and filters and stuff.
 
I always thought cleaning the ink out of the screen just kind of sucked and we always wished for jobs big enough to make throwing the screen away economical.
 
You the man! Watch out for the Acetone. :-)

I gots no need for Acetone.
(so far).
 
I only print with plastisol inks.
 
I do want to try water based one day.
 
Discharge, not so much.

IIRC, We used the Acetone for the green hand cut film. We didn't have a place to soak it so it was more like pour, scrub, and breathe.
 
Then you smelled like Acetone for a couple days no matter how much you washed up.
 
We used the mineral spirits for the ink and dreamed of maybe someday using water based ink.
 
Yuck.
 
I figured you had one of those automated machines that made all those part less un-fun.
