No mastering would be correct though unless you get the top of the line Lazy-Boy. Relaxation is key.

I would use Bose earbuds with this app.

That would be the "noise-cancelling" model, right?

Of course. How else could I master while mowing the lawn?

Now you can master in the plane, the airport, or in a cab... just about anywhere.

now you can master in the only place where nobody will ever disturb you, and that place acutally comes with ideal acoustics for all that iCrap ...

Don't forget to attach bass traps on the back of your head, especially if your head is of cubical kind of form. To reduce early reflections a foam sticker on your forehead might be needed as well.

Great idea. I think we should tip Ethan Winer off to this emerging need, so he can beat Auralex to market with it. Because you just know those guys will make a head treatment that's overpriced and ineffective.

Last night I discovered a thread over on Gearslutz about this product. The vendor actually had the balls to announce it on the Mastering forum there. That will no doubt be an interesting thread to follow.

The FAQ for this app says that duct-taping egg cartons to your head works just as well.

I can see where this would make the pros laugh. I haven't tried this app. so I can't comment. I regularly listen to my iPad with my good cans. The iPad is certainly capable of good audio.

I can see the potential for something like this. What is an iPad really? or any other tablet? A simple computer minus the monitor and keyboard and has a touch interface. If software can be written for mastering and the hardware is capable of supporting it, how is that different from mastering on a DAW ITB?

We may only be a few computer generations away from this ..or it could be happening now.
