The ultimate football game is Australian (Aussie) rules. Soccer is the closest thing to it in terms of speed and pace. The rest, well we wont even go there

We used to get to watch a bit of Aussie Rules at one time Jeff, but I haven't seen any on the box of late.

The most 'violence' I've ever seen in any sport (other than boxing etc, where it's the whole point) was watching some of the New South Wales against Queensland State Of Origin rugby league matches. Sheesh, talk about commitment!

But again I ask.... where is the socking in soccer rules? Seems like all that happens is a ball is kicked around (for sport).

We used to call rugby 'rugger' at school.

Football was always 'footers'.

Cricket was always 'grasshopper' though.

Debates and cussings crop up from time to time about the proper naming of these three sports.

I get that the UK and much of Europe do not get why we Umerikhans call it "football". OK, I'l accept that on face value. No debate there.

But, I've watched a few Soccer and Rugby games in my days on earth and I can say with certainty that the rules of soccer does not seem to involve using fists to sock another player (for the good of the game that is). Further I see no rugs involved in Rugby.

WTF?

Well... I am glad you brought this up because I always wanted to know why they don't call Hockey, Puckey!?!?

If they did...
The guy who makes a goal is a pucker. You know what they call that guy's mother?
The guy standing in front of the net, in that case, just got pucked.
If you get hit by the puck, then you got pucked up. Just hope it doesn't hit you on the backside.

Now that I think about it... It probably is better that they called it Hockey.

Not sure what the puck you guys are on about.  If it's not darts, who cares?

Just started a proper 501 leg with 140, 180, 123 (then fecked up the remaining 58 for a couple of turns - oh well).

I like Footie, even thought it baffles me at times.
