  • Need help finding or creating and easy going, un-busy drum pattern

For some acoustic -guitar based songs, I am looking for some very simple kick/snare/ side stick patterns. Tempos of between low 90s and 112. I am not sure how to arrange the kick / snare (or perhaps hat) hits in the pattern. With the synths I have, it is hard to find a preset that gives me what I want. Even a download of "Just Brushes" patterns were still too busy sounding. Maybe a lesson on step sequencing a pattern would get me going - I imagine I could subtract some parts of a preset pattern to get to what I want....??

The step sequencer is a great place to start because it's so easy to experiment. Just let it loop and throw things in until you get something you like, which may end up being something totally unlike what you were looking for.

Of course, the end result of a step-sequencer generated rhythm is going to sound robotic, but just turn it into a MIDI track and use it as the basis for a hand-made pattern in the PRV.

I likes the Chuckebaby video. I have X1 but almost all applied as well. Weird after all this time and having used step-sequencer before - I had not tried out the PRV/Session Drummer view! I like how the specific names of the kit pieces are actually spelled out on the left side....where as I've had trouble getting the names/titles to show like that, versus keyboard notes on sequencer. It is quick and easy to lasso notes to modify in-mass....etc. jack with the velocities. Here are a few more questions I have related to all this. On the video, I noticed that his ruler on the PRV was displayed as time, rather than bars / beats. I could not figure out (X1) how to change that.... Could in track view, but no choices seemed to be there in PRV?

Other: I made one of the Session Drummer channels display as audio as I was playing back/recording. How do you save that audio?

Thanks

I must admit that you have a natural ability to explain in a most agreeable manner.  You get right to the point.  Nice, simple clear.  I ended up watching a few of your Sonar videos.  Nice.  Keep them coming.
