I spent most of my life just occasionally drinking a cup. I remember the first time I had a couple of cups of coffee. I was 19 and met a potential employer at IIRC... a Waffle House. He and I and another guy. I had two cups of coffee and felt like I was going to go off like a rocket...
Until maybe 10 years ago I always drank my coffee black with sugar but over time my wife, who drinks hers with a lot of half and half but no sugar got me to drinking it with half and half too... I still add the sugar though.
I have come to really love it and nw drink between 16 and 32 oz every morning into early PM. We always make dark roast... it is GOOD! We go through over a gallon of half and half in a week, lol.
Sip..

lol your avatar changed in between the time I was reading and writing mine. :-)

I am in my 40s and didn't start drinking coffee until November 2012. I very quickly became a coffee snob. I only drink my own coffee. I can't stand the coffee at work.

I use a Porlex mini burr grinder and an Aeropress to brew.

I drink one cup a day and found that even the excellent locally roasted coffee went bad before I could finish a 12oz bag. So about 2 months ago, I started roasting my own using a hot air popcorn popper (look it up before you try it at home. You need a certain kind of popper). I have been buying single origin green beans and roasting about 85g every 5 days or so.

Not only is it inexpensive (the first hobby that actually saved me money) it is fun!

What beans are your favorite?

I am just curious, anyone else home roasting?

I never caught the coffee bug.  I don't know why.

Although I do like french vanilla coffee sometimes, I tend not to put anything in mine (except liquor when it's really cold outside).

I used to grind it but I found some coffees I like that are already ground. I like Chock Full O Nuts New York Blend, Jefforys House blend, Knnya AA (when I can find it) and Red Diamond. I like most dark roast coffees.

What sort of heart medication do you take to offset 32oz of coffee?

None... I also take fioricet x2, that is another 80mg of caffiene. Had a green tea after dinner last night. It doesn't seem to affect me, I never get jittery. My bloodwork is good cholesterol is good. I've been taking a beta blocker for 20 years because of an irregular heartbeat. I had a fast heartbeat before I ever started to drink coffee.. it is usually in the 70s now. I have two stents, no heart attack, caught it before. Still on the same 50mg of attenolol as before.
I wish it was a "pick me up", I need it.

I think it's best to pour some Red Bull, Mountain Dew, some Ritalin and a couple of 5-hour Energy's into your 32 oz. coffee.  Adds flavor.
