I successfully gave up all soda's many years ago. With all the chemical additives in it, and the huge amount of sugar per can..... nope, it had to go. The diet stuff is rank, and the chemicals needed to fool the taste buds into thinking you're drinking something sweet...... OMG!!!!
I've known several folks who were practically addicted to Mt Dew.... not good stuff at all.
Water, unsweet tea, or coffee. Occasionally some unsweetened fruit juice..... or beer. (home brewed with no preservatives)
That is why I started drinking coffee last year. I quit drinking soda. I drink tea sometimes but mostly water.
The thing about fruit juice (which I love) is that even with no added sugar, it still can have a lot of sugar. It is hard, I think, to be a healthy eater/drinker. lol
I recently started drinking green smoothies which is fruit mixed with leafy greens. The whole fruit and leafy greens add fiber which helps slow the absorption of the sugar from the fruit.
My daughter is on a healthy eating kick too. However, she likes yogurt (the kind with the fruit in it). Have you read the label of these? They have twice as much sugar than a can of soda (per unit weight)! Go figure!
