Looking at getting Vocal Rider while the price looks very good at around $80 at Plugin Discounts.
Just looking to hear any opinions or first hand experiences with it to see if it might be something worth picking up.

Thanks.

VR is nice ... great GUI, but there are alternatives:

The thing with VR is that the sidechain function is implemented with VST3, which Sonar doesn't support.  That's not the case with these other plugins ... their sidechains work fine.  Cheaper, too.  Thread about the Hornet:

I´ve just bought it, like a lot. It can do wonders in a live set up

Do you have it working in SONAR X2?

Just to clarify, VR's main function of helping to keep the vocal at a constant level works fine in X2.  It's the feature that adjusts the vox level based on OTHER tracks' level that doesn't work in X2 (requires VST3).

I just got it and am pleased at the results for the $80.

I also went ahead and got the Hornet Autogain (less than $16) for the further adjustment of vocal levels based on the "music bus".
