The Maillard Reaction
Last I heard people had to pay to watch MTV.

It's kinda like a 2 drink minimum.

She probably still has not gone far enough to neutralize the cloying odor of adolescent Disneyfication.

She has a long career ahead of her, and doubtless has examined the question of who made more money performing music the Lennon sisters or Madonna?

I was under the impression that the Lennon Sisters along with the Marx Brothers supported a state socialist economy and their work was essentially public property.

The only problem I have is that Miley most likely thinks its good and showed her talent.

Someone told her that . They had rehearsals and run throughs for the VMA's I am sure. And someone thought it was good enough to stay in the show. And or bad enough that it would be good.

Either way she...that she being Miley, is probably clueless that its just a gimmick they used to get talk and make money. Miley probably thinks .... Hey ... I am pretty damn special. Someone told her that and she thinks that.

Michael Jackson was Good and had talent and he died at age 50. It very well might even be sooner for someone like Miley .... She's being fed BS by the people who take care of her ... Probably

Hi,

Offended at what?

I miss the old Hustler thing, offering some of these stars a million or two to pose for them! If that was happening today, I bet that one young lady would get a quick invitation!

It had a way to bring things down to earth a bit ... from the all show and no go. And this is what happened to Janet Jackson ... all show and no go! Down the tubes went her career! Miley is next, unless she learns from Madonna ... that a kiss ... sometimes ... is not just a kiss!

But it is great publicity!

Lastly ... there was an old axiom in Hollywood that had to do with that famous porno movie ... and the joke was that the best way to kill a movie was ... SHUT UP ... so instead, the idiosyncratic religiosos, made the film famous and it made millions ... by today's standards it would have been around 300 million, btw ... to give you an idea!

Advertising is about noticing ... so idiots that don't know the difference that think the world doesn't like their fat bellies ... cut your eyes out!

And I learned a new word...

But I'd always assumed "twerk" was where Yorkshiremen went to earn a living.

I didn't find the performance offensive either. Here's how I look at it...

When people are talking about you in the entertainment business....whether it be good or bad, they're talking about you. That is success because it IS the entertainment business. People take what they see all too serious and label the girl a slut for having the guts to have some fun while making a lot of cash. Did she have to do that? I don't think so because I think she's a pretty good singer/entertainer. BUT...she felt the need and it is what it is.

Next, the thing people forget when they mention all this stuff about "her fans...the kids" etc. Her fans....the kids....most of them were kids when they followed her as Hannah Montana. They are close to HER age now and trust me....young girls and boys at 13-14 know more than you think they do and are having sex on a daily basis. The world needs to worry about things that are more important than what star should be a role model for your child. Anyone with that mentality has already lost as a parent in my opinion. YOU be their role model. It's easy actually.

If you don't want your kids to see something, you put the brakes on and stop watching. And if you do put the brakes on....don't kid yourself, it's only temporary...they can find whatever they want whenever they want at another kids house using another means. You need to educate them to the best of your ability. It sucks they have to be told and taught things so early in the world today, but if you snooze, you not only lose, you could lose your child or really have a clueless kid out there wandering around. If you're an old fashioned parent...you lose. Teach teach teach and keep them informed of every little thing while being "hip" about it. Miley is the least of anyone's worries.

I'm a "big brother" to about 100 kids both around my neighborhood and on the net as a mentor for a video game club. The stuff they tell me would make your heads spin. What Miley did is nothing compared to some of the stuff these kids share with me. Some of it is so warped and twisted, I just shake my head. A little dirty dancing, twerking or some tongue being stuck out...is honestly a joke in the real world. Talked to any kids in their teens lately? They'll teach YOU stuff you've never heard before and you'll see how rediculous a Miley discussion really is. ;)

I thought it was pretty cool. And it's good that she tries to "grow up". Nothing is a sad as a child star who still tries to be a child when they get older!

Besides, I think I'm becoming quite a fan of Miley. I'll definitely go to one of her shows, if I get the opportunity. I'll save a lot of money, it'll be so much cheaper than an evening at a strip club!
