It is really sad when people think what she did in public  OK, no big deal shes just being a grown up girl now,  the dumbing down of sensibilities and what ever is left of some type of common decency its not even shock value any more. the Romans had it right, give them bread and circus,

Already video games with killing themes of human beings(not aliens and monsters) have de sensitized kids to the value of human life, now Miley says random public fornication is just like eating a snickers bar

I didn't find the performance offensive either. Here's how I look at it...
 
When people are talking about you in the entertainment business....whether it be good or bad, they're talking about you. That is success because it IS the entertainment business. People take what they see all too serious and label the girl a slut for having the guts to have some fun while making a lot of cash.

There is another side to this, also.
 
If this was done in Las Vegas, it would be considered "sexy" and a good show.
 
If this was done in small town USA, this would be offensive to the folks that supposedly go to church every Sunday (for something or other!), then it is lewd and offensive.
 
This is a MEDIA problem, and one that the small town USA is refusing to address because of their lack of exposure to the big city and the way of life in the more populated areas ... and in my book, this is where cable, internet and such need to do a better job ... folks in small town USA do not have the programming, or the ability to see and learn about many of these things, and they will continue to be offended.
 
Remember that the US was _____ by many religious folks that went west and killed as many Indians and anything else they found in their way ... and these days, they are trying to do it in the media, and it won't work ... in places like NY, LA and SF, this won't even make the first page ... it will make the bottom of the page 69, with a small pic!
