I know I'm necro-posting here but I agree with the premise of the OP.

Flat-wounds on a P-Bass, nothing better.

I have flat wounds on everything but the acoustics.

Even the dulcimer?

Or is the dulcimer an acoustic?

I don't know since I don't see a picture of one in DimPro.

Naw, it's MakeShift that did the necro-posting. You just jumped on the gravy train.

Not sure what I did, but it was probably me. :-). I'm just trying to catch up to Bapu's post count.....only 45,000 more to go.

This morning I lowered my 4003 bridge a little and now the neck is pretty close at the 9th fret. If it needed a truss rod adjustment, it would be ever so slight. Funny, the intonation is now really close as well.....and the tension on the strings has lowered. Little adjustments can mean a lot sometimes. I seem to have misplaced my little Philips head screw driver. I guess I will pick one up today and fine tune the intonation later.

Hi,

Looking for a sound or two ... and maybe someone can give me a hint here on how to get it, and if strings are the issue or not.

Guru Guru - Dance of the Flames - The Girl from Hirschhorn
Caravan - For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night - Memory Lane, Hugh and Headloss

I know that the bass player in Caravan had a Gibson EB-0 (the original) ... but I think the one on the Guru Guru album is a Fender Jazz bass.

Anyone can give me an idea if possible?
