@ Mike the OP:

Not sure if your original question was answered or not.

But in my Sonar Plugin Manager, my CSR's show up with [32 Bit] beside them.

The Maillard Reaction

I downloaded Valhalla Room yesterday. I listened to it head to head against my CSR install in some old projects.

I bought a new reverb license from a guy named Sean.

I don't need or want tons more than that.

@Jim, those are the older versions, the newer versions on the Custom Shop are 64 bit.

Exactly, except you can do tons more with gear models being added and demoing them as they come out.

W/ all due respect, the Custom Shop actually makes it more complicated to demo products. Not only do you need to remain logged into it to demo the product, but every time a new module comes out and you want to try it, you have to re-download and install the entire T-Racks suite to have access to the one module you want to demo.

IK also has the shortest demo period I know of in the business.

Its not the entire suite at all. Just the Custom Shop and any bug fixes to the shell. You update with the "Restore my Gear" option and anything demo'd can be redemo'd a few weeks after. There are many that don't offer demo's at all and are locked into other DRM systems like iLok. To many, the Custom Shop is one of the simplest and easiest ways to expand their studios tools.

That was badly phrased, sorry about that. By entire suite, I meant that you had to re-download T-Racks Custom Shop, which includes everything. It is not possible to download, say, just the Buss Comp in order to demo it - what you need is the latest version of T-Racks, which contains ALL the modules, the ones you own and the ones you don't, ready to be activated or demo'ed or left alone.

Comparing IK to the worst in the business doesn't work for me. In most cases, I prefer not to do business with companies that don't offer a demo. And as much as I hate iLok, as I've posted earlier, I've had much better luck with it than w/ the old IK authorization manager.

On the other hand, I'm likely to speak highly of companies like Waldorf and their 100 days demo for PPG 3.
Or 112db and their 60 days no limit trial version.
Steinberg offers 30 days on their instruments.
14 days trial also seem to be fairly common.

It's a shame Obi, because, I am demoing it right now and that new Buss compressor of your is totally KILLER. I think it's easily one of the best plug-ins you guys have created.

Why not use plug ins based on their sound?

That doesn't mean I won't use it - only that I think there is room for improvement in the CS concept and that the demo period is a bit short for my taste.
