Pro Tools expert had a really cool tutorial recently showing you how to use Pro Tools in conjunction w/ MainStage as a host for Audio Unit plug-in instruments and effects, taking advantage of the the aggregate audio devices feature of Mac OS. It works pretty much like a re-wired synth rack.

Now that plus the new offline bounce in 11 and the rewritten audio engine could eventually mean Pro Tools getting used a whole lot more around here.

t seems as if the primary developer of Lexicon's Native DSP left and started his own company a couple years ago and many people are pointing out that Lexicon doesn't have a ready answer to questions about updates. Michael Carnes has a website and two products offered here: http://www.exponentialaudio.com/

If you haven't yet purchased the Lexicon bundle, checkout the Exponential Audio Pheonix Verb.
It sounds fantastic... (better than the PCM bundle IMO)

Hi Mike,

Phoenix Verb works well here under both Win8x64 and Win7x64 (v1.2 update released recently).
Sounds great... and it's pretty easy on the CPU.

Relab 480xl sounds fantastic (if you're after that dense 480L sound)
NI Lexicon models are also pretty darn good.
Valhalla Room and Vintage Reverb sound very good too (especially for the cost).

We're a little spoiled with quality reverb options.
Listening to Pheonix, you can tell it's a reverb of high pedigree.

On a recent Facebook post Lexicon Pro respond to the AAX question:
“ I can say this is in the works. Unfortunately it is and will take longer that we hoped, but we are working it…and it will be a 100% free update.”
