Hey!

After trying out H-EQ from Waves the GUI really put me of. Dont get me wrong, I like Waves but as always the responsiveness in the GUI just dont feel right. It always feels like its lagging when pulling faders and knobs. I've heard others complain about their plugins so I dont think I'm alone in experiencing this.
Anyway this got me into trying out FabFilters Pro-Q instead. Saw a video of it a while ago and liked what I saw so I thought I'd give it a go.
After using it for like ten seconds I was hooked. I really like the responsiveness and it feels like a modern plugin compared to many others.

What are your experiences of the plugin?

Do FabFilter use to have sales? You think it would be worth waiting a while before I get it? I'm not in a desperate need of an EQ. It's just that I really liked this one and I eh.... like buying stuff. ;-)

Any other EQ you think I should try before getting this?

Do FabFilter use to have sales?
On single plug-ins the answer is No with one recent exception, their delay effect.

They do have bundle sales once or twice a year where you can get 25% off, but this is for bundles only.

I've experienced the same GUI jerkiness with many Waves plugins.  It may be a Sonar issue, since the controls seem to behave more smoothly when I see them in videos and such.

Anyway, if you're looking for a nice EQ with VERY smooth controls, you may want to check this thread:

You stumbled onto a winner in Pro-Q. While Fabfilter historically only place their bundles on sale, with the exception of the recent Timeless 2 sale, you can get a 10% discount anytime from anyone that owns a Fabfilter product. The plug-ins are occasionally up for resale at kvraudo.com too.

10% discount from anyone who own a Fab filter product? Anyone here want to help a guy out? ;-)

Been playing with it this evening now. I have a hard time thinking that I ever will want to use anything else.

Wait for the bundle specials metz- they happen a couple of times a year. If you like the EQ you will probably want the limiter and the compressor too!

They actually had a sale on an individual plugin for the first time I can remember not long ago- timeless2.

Hey metz, I have most of the Fabfilter plugs and are my go to all the time. I have a ton of Waves plugs to that I really like as well but my first reach is to Fabfilter every time. You can't go wrong. Any time you want the discount on one of their plugs let me know.

Looks like I "have" to get one of the bundles. That compressor sure looks tempting as well.

BTW, I really have to say. I really like this part of the forum. For a guy like me who dont have tons of friends who are into audio and definitively not plugins, having guys like you around really is a goldmine.
