Unfortunately I live in a state where only the criminals can normal people don't have guns :)

 fixed.

Well how is that fortunate. I'm effectively banned from defending myself.

Can kids still buy cap guns with the little rolls of caps that made a bang? I bet they can't. Used to love those things!

I used to have one that was also a spud gun when I was a kid.....

He,he ......hours of fun, just had to remember not to use up all the spuds. Being young and foolish I didn't always manage to remember that. ;)

When at my parents ast weekend I found a "rocket" I made when I wasa a kid. However, I am no longer sure if it is a rocket... it is probably a really good thing that I lost it. I took a Crosman CO2 cylinder, sawed off the cap and stuffed it completely full of caps, match heads, powder from firecrackers, and anything else explosive I could find... it is packed full. The plan was to insert a fuse, stick it in a pipe (barrel), point it toward the sky, light it and run. Probably not a good idea but I was maybe 12 years old... now I don't know what to do with it. I am thinking maybe I should....  insert a fuse, stick it in a pipe (barrel), point it toward the sky, light it and run.

Once 12... always 12.

I grew up with an elementary school above the backyard (I used to jump our fence, climb a hill and and crawl under the school fence as a shortcut).  I still remember kids that used to use PVC pipe and C02 cylinders filled with blue-tip match heads.  Dangerous things!  One time it came back to earth way too close and hit a wood seat where it buried itself in at least four inches.  I would assume it would be fatal if it hit someone on the head...

One fun science project my friend and I used to do was to make tennis ball cannons.  You take two steel soda cans (like Welch's - aluminum cans won't work), cut out the bottom of one leaving a ridge and make a small "mouse" hole in the bottom of the lower can.  Duct tape the cans together, squirt in some lighter fuel - spinning the cans to coat all of the sides, then insert a tennis ball (which should stay on the middle ridge) and light down by the mouse hole.  *BOOM!*  That ball could go quite a ways into the air if done right.  We would add extras like carefully rifling the top of the bottom can to get a spinning effect.  Ah, teenage fun!

COOL.... I have a book "Backyard Ballistics".

I like stuff like this. I was afraid the CO2 cylinder was something I don't want to type out here, considering the N_S_A etc, but lets say I was concerned that I had made a

instead of a rocket.. I guess considering the population around here, if I fire it... it should be into the side of a hill.
