We had the family cat put to sleep last year at the age of 25, poor old thing started coughing up blood one morning and we were told by the vet that his organs were shutting down.

It's amazing how long they can live for but 28 thats an old moggy!

Never had much luck with cats...had a few as a kid (usually Persians) and they never seemed to get past 12 or 13 (cancer most of the time). I remember one time an exceedingly cool and much loved kitteh of ours went missing for a couple of weeks and I was so distraught that I hand wrote about 300 fliers and posted them through everyone's doors in the neighborhood. I was sure she was stuck in a garage or garden shed or something. In the end, some lady saw the postcard I'd put in the post office window and remembered that a friend of hers a few miles away had just found a cat, so she got us in touch with them and it turned out to be the family of some kid I'd been at school with 10 years ago, and lo and behold they had the moggy.
