While rummaging around in my drawers awhile back, I found several maps I've had from when I was a kid.
Germany, Europe, some Civil War maps and a "conflict map of Viet-Nam". Relived the 1960s.

Hi,

Very very cool ... and enjoyable look, too!

Went from the maps to all the other collections.  I'd love to have a few of those on my walls to look at all the time.

There are more people living inside this circle than outside is the one that got me.

I have started to take more of an interest in maps ever since I was supposed to be at a family reunion in North Eastern Pa. and instead wound up in West Virginia 100 miles off course  with 100 pieces of fried chicken and  four watermelons, the result of faulty GPS instructions due to a programming error. The good news is, there was plenty to eat at the roadside rest area.

I don't trust GPS. My nav unit (named "Mandy" for the voice I selected) has about a 50% success rate in finding places. More than once Mandy has sent me up dead-end roads and private driveways, or announced that I'd reached my destination when in fact I was in a shopping mall parking lot miles away. I'm glad she doesn't take offense easily because I've directed some bad language her way.

I find it incredible that people can enter an address into a satnav, look at the map of the destination, select from a choice of routes, see the chosen route displayed, blindly follow it to the end (sometime literaly) and ONLY THEN decide it was routing to the wrong address..  It's not the satnavs fault.

No offense in 10 did.

Everything with large grain of salt.  I have used to Mapquest or Maps On Us when travelling to a new city.  The directions were reasonably accurate, but construction caused the ramp I needed to be closed and all bets were off after that.  I imagine that GPS can't account for that, either.  That's one reason I don't have GPS at the moment.

I wonder if anyone knows how often the "maps" get updated.
