We are working on SampleTank 3 which will bring 64 bit compatibility.
I don't think that lack of 64-bit compatibility is necessarily the problem.  I have been using these plugins primarily in 32-bit Sonar and they keep losing the content filepath and prompting me to re-authorize the software.

I've already voiced my stand against their business model..

I'm not buying any more IK products....end of story...

Plenty of other vastly better supported "fish" in the sea...

I may be the only one to take a stand..but it's a stand nonetheless...
because the "junkies" will always need a 'fix", they'll always "applaud"
even a minor thing they do....but I'm done with IK.

4 years to get an update to "flagship" sampler is LUDICROUS,
while they poop out iCrap an an astronomical rate...

I'll still use what I have...and keep it current...as long as it's free..

But not spending another penny on their products...

They can sell iCrap till they're blue in the face...

iDon't care...

+1 to all.
I own an iPhone and iPad but still have no interest in any of it.

Actually Obi, you should tell IK to not even bother with ST. I don't think you guys have much of a market left. Most have moved on. Sad but true.

IK used to be one of my favorite companies too.

@Kev SampleTank 3 will bring a lot of fixes, features and other things that people have been asking for. Soon enough you'll understand. People may not like iOS and mobile devices for music yet, but the world is shifting in that direction and people are already embracing it. Honestly, far more than people are on traditional (Whatever that means...) Macs and PCs. It only makes sense to bring our same quality software to the mobile platform. People were the same way when computers were first being introduced to digital recording in studios.

The biggest reason?

Because you can buy an iApp for $2.99, and many are FREE....not $299!!!  So, they are like buying Bubble Gum
or a candy bar right now..

and, while right now, it's the "in" thing...it is a phase and WILL pass...the buyers are usually "younger" and by that I mean either A) they are young people who are looking for Novelties, or B) they are middle age
"teenagers" doing the exact same thing...

I wish you the best with that business model!!

Sell your PC apps for $2.99 and SEE HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE BUY THEM!!!  DUH!!!

It's amazing that the CEO of company can devote the VAST MAJORITY of his resources to iApps,
when his true stock holders, those who made the company, are neglected for years...
and the JUNKIES all go YAAAAAAAAAAY when 1 stupid little enhancement comes out...

Just shoot me...

I can't believe the stupidity of Companies....they can't see the FOREST for the TREES!
(neither can the "junkies"...who will always purchase a "fix")

(these aren't directed at you Obi...)

Will ST3 directly read Sonik Synth and Mirsolav combis?

That's what they say.

I hope they made the gui for ST3 smaller so nobody can use it. Maybe that's what is taking so long. They can't see it and testing it is a real pain.

This isn't directed at anybody in particular either. First, IK is a privately owned company. No stock holders. iOs devices are growing at a rate no one predicted. Millions sold in the first 3 years alone. They are in no way going anywhere anytime soon. Even Microsoft has started to move into the mobile direction. @VintageVibe - Yes. @GuitarPima - There is definitely a new and improved GUI

It would be foolish to ignore the iOs market.  It will be an ever growing part of creating music (regardless of opinions to the contrary).  I'm fine with that and will probably have one someday.   The discontent stems from ignoring the Sampletank market.  The big fumble IMO was not giving a 64bit update.  Even with no other improvements at all that would allow owners to continue using it.  Instead we have had to stop using libraries we used to depend on because they are not reliable in 64bit environment.  While Sampletank users were left behind iOs was full steam.  If IK had just released a 64bit version with no other changes we would be anxiously awaiting S3 instead of being angry at IK for ignoring us.

We are working on SampleTank 3, but releasing iOS apps with the same sample libraries from out other workstation libraries was an easy way to introduce the iOS world to what was really possible with their mobile devices. We even included some of the upcoming SampleTank 3 instruments in them to let you guys know we were working on them. Right now we are looking at releasing it this year, soon you'll see and understand why we've been working for so long on it. We have updated all of our other software to 64 but for free. We do our best to look out for our customers and our SampleTank fans will get the much asked for SampleTank love soon.
