When electric bass and drums play together, the low frequencies coming from the bass amp make the snare wires vibrate. This is called "sympathetic resonance". There isn't always the same sound, it depends on the frequency of the notes, the volume and the snare itself.

When we record bass and drums separately (using sample libraries or real instruments), this doesn't happen but, by adding W-Buzz to the mix, your tracks become more realistic and organic. It changes your perception.

We recorded it by playing an electric bass through an amp near a drum kit, with a mic pointing at the bottom of the snare, and just sampling that sound. We recommend using a LPF (low pass filter) to get rid of the bass and only let the snare sound come through.

Each note sampled because every frequency makes the snare vibrate in a different way. 2 round robin, sustain, mutes and glissandos.

I started musical life as a drummer.
Don't know about the rest of you... but I absolutely hate that buzzing.   ;)
Did everything possible to avoid it...

& buzzing or rattling from other objects as well!
The snare buzz in XLN AD drove me crazy too until I found how to turn it off.

So now you can put it back in once you have either avoided it in the first place or taken it out.

I guess folks are just running out of stuff to sample or model.  What a kooky idea.  It's like the hum in the new IK Echoplex modeled delay that can't be turned off...but you actually get a choice between 60 and 50 cycles!!??  What next?  Have the software "break a tape" or "blow a fuse" every 5 or 6 uses like the old analog ones did.

Almost as good as Embertones' 'The Keyboard' April fools instrument.

That was my thought exactly when I read the email...it's now official: everything that can be sampled has been sampled. All of reality now resides on my hard drive.

Oh, wait - new email...you know how there's always one guy who screws up an otherwise good take by tripping over a chair during the fadeout? Well, now you can put those things back into your recording with the new "Annoying Unwanted Noises" library. Loops, one-shots and multi-layered multis are included. Pre-order now and we'll throw in "Flatulence, Coughs and Sneezes" at no extra charge!
