Hi all, 

It's been a long time since I've read any of my EULA's from my Native Instruments products, so
I'm not totally sure if this is legal or not, as some allow reselling of their products - some don't.

[A quick read of their 'Legal' shows that it may be ok - still reading.]     

So, if allowed, does anyone want to unload their copy of Kontakt 4 [or even 5]? 

Perhaps they eventually bumped up to Komplete 'x', which includes it, and don't need it, or didn't even install it in the first place.

Although I have about 12 NI products, apparently none of them qualify me for an upgrade or crossgrade price. 

I don't need it so bad that I want to pay $399 for it. I also have no need to get Komplete 8 or 9 now.

In essence, I'm really only inquiring so that I can consider the current Embertone sale, [and of course what ever else I can then do with it]. 

I have Kontakt Player, but not Kontakt Full.

Your best bet is to go to Future Loops and buy a loop pack on sale (30% off sale ends April 1 right now).  One of the kontack player loop packs.

buy a loop pack and that would let you Crossgrade to Kontact 5 for $99.00.  total wouldn't run you more than $150.00.

or check http://www.kvraudio.com/ in the for sale section and see if someone is parting with Kontact but I just checked and didn't see anything there.

You sure you don't have a crossgrade library that would qualify you for crossgrade Kontact 5?  I have 4 libraries that would qualify me, but I own Komplete 8 so don't need the crossgrade, I'm just saying maybe there is something there.

Depending on the library I guess, the crossgrade can still be pretty expensive. I get $249.

Been to KVR as well - didn't see anything either.

Didn't know about this other option though -

I would have thought so. 

I mean among others, I have Guitar Rig 4, Massive, Komplete Klassics which has Akoustik Piano, B4II, Pro 53 & Elektrik Pianos in it. But when I click on either option, a note comes up saying ...nothing registered to qualify...yada yada yada.


To save time browsing through their pages which seem quite filled up, is there somewhere that shows such a crossgrade option? 

I haven't found that yet for consideration. 

Or is it on the NI page? 

Edit: Ok - I see the list of qualifiers on the NI page.

list of crossgrade there is a link.  basically a lot of 3rd party contact libraries.

Vir2 Electricity, Heaviocity Evolve etc etc.

one of the many things on the list is Future Loops.  buy a < $50.00 loop pack that is a Kontact loop library and register it and that will qualify you for the crossgrade.

Full price $399 , update from Kontact 1-4, and crossgrade is $249.

I recently upgraded from K4 to K5 for $99 on the NI website. I wonder why it is $249 now?

crossgrade is $249 with a qualifying product.

full price is $399.

I bought Komplete 8 for a little over $399 at one of the various sales, and got Kontact + all the other stuff.  was worth the little extra money to get Kontact and the bonus of everything else.
