After singing the national anthem for the Mets last year, my wife sang for their farm team tonight.
Last year at the Mets game I was anxious to leave after the first inning. I should mention that the game took place in the afternoon, that we had to be there early in the morning, and that at the time, I still had lots of issues trying to cope w/ the heat.
This one was scheduled for 7 pm and everything was just much more relaxed. And I got used to the sun and the heat. We left after the 4th inning because my wife was tired and she has to be up early tomorrow, but I actually enjoyed my time there - I could have watched the whole thing. Plus, we were really beating the other team. :P
My only regret, actually a faux pas... My wife had asked me to take a few pictures while she was singing and I was so focused on that that I completely omitted to take off the cap they'd given me (plus, I never wear hats so I don't have the reflexes) and I suddenly realized that everyone in there was standing up for the anthem while I wasn't paying attention to anything but what I was doing, so I was just walking around trying to find a good angle...
Not what you'd call a brilliant start for someone who's hoping to move here permanently.
Anyway... Go 51s!
