Are you saying they didn't play their part in helping create a whole new parket for better turntables, digital samplers and drum machines?

ANd I wish I could see statistics on what percentage of the OVERALL music scene those are a big part of.
Yea every parket has its ninche ,but I think a DAW BASED forum would not be the target for I Apps blitzs...

BTW "this" android based app doesnt work with my Android phone..

I think you mean "parquet" there ol pal.  As in laminate flooring.  Which is, it turns out, an apt metaphor for what new technology has the propensity for bringing us.  Cheaper...worse...stuff.

Now, I understand the "art" of turntablism...as you put it.  And some folks are indeed capable of taking it to "artistic" heights. But...like collage music (I.e. looping...which I, myself do on rare occasions)...it is simply assembling, or in the turntablist's case, replaying someone else's musical production or productions in a new order or fashion.

And so I still maintain that it is immensely more difficult to learn the discipline and develop the skill of actually being able score, read or perform actual music compositions rather than just assembling someone else's in the studio or even real time. YMMV.

@Musicman100, I didn't create the thread, software is software no matter the OS. I've seen threads here about Ubuntu Studio as well. Some good points, music technology helps change and create new musical styles, techniques and breeds innovation to push the boundaries further.
