Not from me...I use them all...
The merits of Juan are undeniable...
The merits of Cubase are undeniable...
The merits of X2 are undenialbe...
The merits of PT are undeniable...
The merits of Logic, DP8, etc...ad naseum are undeniable...
The ONE thing that alludes these companies is that they can't seem to
GET IT IN ONE PACKAGE...as they play the "I hate XXX so I'm not going
to implement that" game..."
Kind of a dumb game...
Just think if X2 could run RTAS or AAX plugins...it would be the FIRST non Pro Tools DAW
to do that..it would open a whole new world of plugins to users....etc...
Just think if X2 had been FIRST to implement VST3...instead of being one of the LAST holdouts....
Why don't they? you ask...well they'd have to get Licensing from AVID..and they won't do that...
Steinberg, on the other hand, leaves VST open to others...and they STILL get berated for
being the "developer" of the format....and we hate Steinberg for it...blah blah blah...
It's a "we want our own proprietary format" war....that's why Cake developed the PC...
but, where they missed the boat is not "flooding" the market with PC Modules....
THAT would have opened the doors to others maybe "adopting or adapting"...
NOPE...instead...they sat on the laurels and played the "waiting" game....
NOW they are porting their PC modules to VST...in the hopes of gaining a few
more customers....which they didin't gain by "waiting"...
It's been a year since the last PC Module was released...and you can't include
Breverb, TH-2, or the CA-2A...those aren't NEW, they are "ports"...
And the only OTHER PC 3rd party player? Softube...and ONLY the Mix Bundle...
They lost interest real fast...
I maintain an "open" mind....and look at ALL the possibilities...
Just my thoughts...
