FYI, I have a Quad Capture and Samplitude ASIO works fine with it when it's plugged into a USB2 port. The only time I had a problem was when I plugged the QC into one of the 'fake' USB3 ports that require a driver. The computer is just a stock i5 kit from Newegg. EDIT: Actually, I'm not at the DAW right now but I seem to recall that there is a selectable driver named something like 'Samplitude ASIO'. I'm not using that one. I'm using the Quad Capture's ASIO driver.

dstrenz,

I'm running Win 8....not Win 7....and no compatibility settings would work either...

"This ain't my first Rodeo.."  LOL

I'm sure if I were back on Win 7 I'd be fine....

but I'm not going backwards....if these companies in this day and age can't get their programs up to date
when they get like a year in advance to get up to speed due to MS Beta Testing..

SHAME ON THEM...

They always have an excuse as to "why not"...case in point Ik Multi-iApps..

My DAW is Win8 too. It was originally Win7 and I upgraded to Win8. My bet is that you selected the 'Samplitude ASIO' driver rather than the Quad Capture ASIO driver and the OS has nothing to do with it.

I think you failed to read my previous posts...

I used the Magix Driver...it worked...but very poorly...
I used the Steinberg Driver...it worked...but very poorly...
I used the QC driver...it wouldn't work at all...

Hey, if it works for you ....GREAT...

I've been in IT for years and I sure couldn't get it to work....
The QC driver won't work with any of my IK stand alones either...

But it works great with everything else...

Sorry, when you mentioned the Cubase driver, I didn't realize you were talking about in Samplitude. Never noticed it. I never worked in IT. I'm just an old semi-retired software developer. Anyhow, you've apparently given up so there is no point in pursuing this.

No prob dstrenz...

I was just clarifying...

Yep...I tried every one of them...

I've used Asio4All before also..and while it would work...it would give me some crazy
feedback issues and other assorted problems...

I run X2, Cubase 7, Studio One 2.5, all with no issue on Win 8 using the QC driver...works great...

but for some reason, Ik products don't like it, and Samplitude didn't like it...

I REALLY would have liked to have given Samplitude a run down...the interface, metering options skins, etc...

there were a lot of great features there....

I still want to run DP 8 up the flag pole too...but apparently the Windows version is STILL in the wind somewhere...

Even though it was supposed to be released late last year it still, to the best of my knowledge, and I check regularly,
hasn't hit the streets...even though they still claim "cross-platform"...

Big thanks Backwoods for the heads up on this. I tried one of the demos and really liked it. Enough to order it. Bad news is they have not got back to me and my support emails aren’t getting answered either. I turned them into PayPal for non delivery last week and they haven't even responded to that. Beware of this one

If you're in the North America, email Tim Dolbear directly for product support: tdolbear@magix.net.

Thanks Don, they replied to my PayPal claim and asked for my order #, still not resolved. I have a hunch that their emails are being stopped by my internet provider. This has happened once before a few years ago with Nugen audio. Their emails don't get to me and mine to them also get sent back. A rep had to email me my serial number from his home computer. Fortunately I had no issues with their online authorization for that plug, but it has prevented me from doing business with them.

As far as the plugs go, I was really impressed with the sound. I have no idea what the actual hardware versions of the plugs they were emulating sound like but as far as expected results, I thought the plugs did their job as well as any Waves, UAD or CW pro channel plugs I have or demoed
GUI seems a bit out of date, but that's no real issue for me. Too bad I will have to do without :(
