And then there was the birthday song he wrote and recorded for me made from a series of tiny instruments (wood flute, tiny accordion, percussive instruments etc.) I've purchased for him over the years.

I just think it's great that even after having you as an example, he STILL became a musician!

All of those songs were fun and very well done.  I think my favorite of the bunch was the birthday song.

(You gave him a toy accordian???  What were you thinking??!  The Karmic retribution could be massive!!!)

I think sharing thoughts about putrid decay has a lot of downsides.

But that's still probably better than doing a Journey cover. :-)

  LOL.

Bapu you certainly have one talented chip off the old block there. I never intended to point the finger at anyone on any kind of a personal level. I know for a fact that a lot of these guys singing these lyrics may not have even written them. Bare with me here briefly. I drew a connection between the idea behind any album and the people who made it happen. I guess this started when I questioned album art and some of the intended examples. I tend to pick things apart to a level that might make some grow tired of reading this. I'm sorry I only have one brain and this is how it works.

I think my main thoughts behind what I see are- A. Even if it's only a show and there is no personal participation in the meanings of the art/music the fact remains that someone wrote those lyrics and music coming from somewhere for some reason that I would like to think is baring someones soul on some level or is attempting to lead the listener to a place.

If I sang  "God Bless America" but I had no interest in America the song itself would still convey a meaning to thousands of people. B. The idea that other people connect with the message of the song or album art/theme/idea says that this isn't an isolated event and that whatever it is  likes to be shared on a communal and personal level, noted by concert attendance and album sales. I think that if we are honest about what we see we need to admit something about humanity that isn't good.If art is a representation of real life then we are seeing some of our flaws first hand. This really isn't about metal, heck I even took a stab at a metal tune. Still haven't learned how to mix guitars though. https://soundcloud.com/starise/what-you-gonna-do-when-the

I actually like metal music. I guess this is the kind of thing that has me asking questions-
