I've been checking out Recabinet and really like it...

iFace doesn't have a demo, that I know of...and neither
does MixIR that I can find...

So looking for opinions on which you think is the better of the 3...

Thanx in advance!!

Haven't tried iFace. Tried ReCabinet but it just wasn't for me.

MixIR2 does what I want and it just feels more solid w/ a GUI that puts all the options at the tip of my fingers, so to speak. And it's so flexible.

Thanx Rain!

Did you try the old Recabinet without the new Dynamics feature or
the new 3.5 version?

Just curious...

One thing I must add - I don't know about the other but MixIR 2 requires that your impulses are placed in a specific directory - iow, you can't just browse your entire HD or add folders to its own browser. (Darn forum bugs, man. Now I can't post more than one reply per thread using Safari, neither can I quote... A new glitch or bug every day).

I'm not sure which one it was - I tried it back in December, whichever version was out at that time.

Sounds really good...

Why don't these companies give demos?

The Recabinet in Dec was 3.1 I believe...

The new one, 3.5, has added the Speaker Dynamics option...
as well as the option to use RedWirz IR's

MixIR2 1.1.185 has a new interface without level meters...

I bought Recabinet 3.5 while on sale and I am very pleased with it.

One of the reason I bought it was that it has a 64 bit version. I don't always have good luck with bit bridge.

Second reason is that they allow you to load your own impulses.

I believe iFace is only 32. Their trial at iFace trial

Recabinet will allow you to browse any directory for impulses.

Recabinet allows for two cabinets and two mics used at once. There are about 20 cabinets and 8 mics to choose from. On or off axis for mic placement and close mid far for placement and an eq on each cab as well. ( Now realize you know all of this from the demo)

I believe MixIR2 allows for many other combination. And their impulses have great reviews.

Most of the Recabinet presets are seem to be for rock/metal sounds. But since you can load your own now not a big deal.
I haven't played with the dynamics dial much. I can hear a change but my limited knowledge keeps me from being able to explain what the change I'm hearing is exactly. Sorry not more help there.
Third reason is I get a lot less questions if I say I'm spending $20 rather than $50.

Hope some of that helps.

I' haven't had any REAL issues with 32 bit programs...

I downloaded the Demo of iFace, just to see...(thanx for that - you're link didn't work,
but I did find the Demo)

I really like the interface of Recabinet....to me...it's what an interface should be..
Not that it's a big deal...I don't like that the Demo cuts out every few seconds...

Granted you can get an Idea of what it sounds like...but it's really annoying when
your trying to get a good feel for it and it keeps disappearing on you..

My, looks like I have lots of catching up to do. To be honest, I bought my amp in December and didn't follow up on amp sims and related stuff. I'm thinking about selling all that stuff.
