Who would be the governing body that in your mind should be given the charge of compelling Gibson to send you a DVD/CD?  I'm just curious who or what you imagine.

People get so bent out of shape over Lifetime deals.  But it is the lifetime of the product, not for all of your lifetime.  I have had some good ones where I haven't had to pay for ten years and some go out next year. That's life.

Alright.. never mind the disks.
Throw in some Omaha steaks and we'll call it even.

Anybody that thinks you still you install software with disk has been on a deserted island or the last 5-6 years. They don't even include disk drives on laptops anymore. Nobody uses them. Only us pour slobs making CD's to give away to friends and relatives. And I have people who don't even know what to do with those! It's all download my friends. 
If you noticed they also don't have floppy drives on Desktops anymore. 
Maybe Cakewalk could send you the 12 floppies!

we didn't "buy" the software anyway.  read the EULA (which everyone had to agree to in order to install the software.  yes, everyone).

With the Installers and codes you can put them on a Usb stick.
