Well, it wouldn't have the advantages...

After all, the Custom Shop works well for Amplitube and T-Racks because the additional models are already in there and you only need to unlock them, either for trial or by buying them.

Unless they made you download a 40 GB installer featuring all their libraries, I hardly see how they could offer the same type of "convenience" in Sample Tank.

Thks obi

may i ask if other instruments like sample tron and samplemoog will be "openable" in Sampletank 3 ?

if yes it makes sens to buy the totale now and then upgrade to the S3 to have fun ;)

Yes, all of our Virtual Instrument libraries will open in the upcoming SampleTank 3.

I, for one, will not be purchasing anything IK from henceforth...

I almost did the T-Racks Grande Upgrade from Deluxe...but
then realized how stupid it would be...

I've done my due...

Too many other well supported options out there...

Just sorry I wasted my money...

Should have used it on the "other" options...

As Alanis says....YOU LIVE...YOU LEARN...

As the others have stated... iAM done with iK...
Waiting 3 years for an upgrade...is ludicrous.

But you only have to wait 4 days for an upgrade to your iWhatever...

I'm sorry you feel that way. Last year we updated our Mac/PC software faaaaar more than our iOS apps. Best of luck with your music making though. Hopefully SampleTank 3 will impress you enough for you to hop in one of our future threads.

Guys,

Gut level apology to Obi for the rash of **** in the ancient past, over the i stuff.

Got to evaluate his evaluation that things are running to mobile aps. Hope it benfits others.

I don't have an i anything and maybe therefore missing out on the revolution and the benefits I'm too dense to take advantage of.

Old age technology here with a bulky PC running everything in the studio and I'm fine with that.  From the PC perspective, voiced by other members, Amplitube, dynamite rig could be Amp 6 by now if the resources had not been drawn off to the i apps.

Note about Sampletank and the other free libraries.

32 bit and the samples are too frequency limited. Ain't no Kontact.  However the IK instruments offer a strong plus for Sonar users or the likes of Studio One...

Probably the only guy left pressing this shortfall in Sonar, where sampltank helps bail me out until the issue in Sonar is addressed. Think everyone else has either given up or moved to Reaper or an EnergyXT patch for a fix.

Sonar is stuck in ancient time, refusal to move forward in handling vsti's. Correct me if I is wrong, but don't think I am....

Unless you are Bit who can handle a one synth input with elegance, some tech help is needed to compensate for talent like I got to rely upon.  Then there are clients who want thick sounds produced quickly.

Sampletank loads several layers across the spectrum. Elegant panning and stereo presentation up with the best of them.  What may be missing in the quality of a single sample is easily made up for by layering.

Got to respect also that Sampletank free and the likes of  Amitube free version are offered to some kid (or adult) who could not otherwise afford a pro ap. This stuff is good, and a humble thanks to IK for offering this portal.

This is true Obi...

Because you weren't UPDATING THEM...YOU WERE RELEASING THEM...

Nice play on words...

But the iCrap Apps....get updated in DAYS when required...

And here....FOUR ENTIRE YEARS and 150 iApps LATER  -

NO SampleTank 3...

That is completely unacceptable to me...

Everyone else....

Please feel free to spend your money on it...

Guys,

The thoughts/debates here got me dusting off SampleTank to take another look. Still stuck in time with the samples not as broad spectrum as newer stuff in the Kontakt libraries, but check this out anyway.

Attached an fx patch for Sampletank doing strings out of its own library. Thrown together in a couple minutes without any fine tuning that would have made it better.

Sound is worth a thousand words, so fire this one up and makes a credible argument that even the old 32 bit version rocks. Also connection for me with an intuitive interface that allows quick audition of an individual sample and good control under the hood of each sample.

Took several layers, but could use these strings anywhere.
