Glyn Barnes
I think he is starting out with the right goal, he says "It's not "the ultimate Hammond clone" we are trying to make here, but a rough, steaming rock'n'roll animal!" So hopefully by concentrating on that he will nail the grit and hit the jackpot. NI's Vintage Organs tries to be all things to all men and while it's great in some areas the gritty rock sound is where its lacking.
Agree. The NI organs do not quiet have the grind of the hard rock B3; even their once great B4ii seems to fall just a bit short of that distorted Purpelesque B (but that is about all it did not get right). For years now, I have thought that the VB3 has that hard core grit and grind of the overdriven pushed rock B3 nailed down. I love my B4 and Vintage Organs, but the VB3 fills in a certain grindy, gritty gap. Nevertheless, it will be nice to have another option in the B3 rock and roll arena; it will be very nice indeed to have a different spin and grind on it.
