Ozzy says Bill has had two heart attacks and is way over weight and is not welcome. They wont be responsable for his life. Apparrantly Bill knows it and agrees but still there seems to be resentment, I think.

I probably wont go (not my sort of crowd) but I bet it will be a good show.

I wonder... do you think 13 is a number one album because it is that good or because Sabbath has become such a legend? I have not heard it.

they already used a different drummer to make the album (bad choice)

now no bass player for the tour (not that big a deal, but it aint sabbath)

I had not heard about no bass player. I thought Butler was touring... the switched drummers to the "Rage Against The Machine" drummer, can't remember his name. They have someone playing keyboards, that seems like a waste of time... not sure how anyone is going to hear keys over Iommi.

i just meant, NOT the original bass player (same to me, as no bass player)
the drummer on the album is really good.
but it never feels like sabbath to me.

There was an interview that intimated that there was a problem about how much they would earn.  Because of whom wrote what.

Sad that when it was the four that made the sound not just the tunes.

Butler IS the original bass player and he is touring. Only Ward was left out.

After hearing reports of how poorly he performed on the last reunion tour, I'm starting to believe that it's not impossible that they simply use any reason to leave him out w/o telling him that he's no longer able to play.

But I wish they'd hired Appice.
He has a history w/ Sabbath and his drumming worked quite well w/ them on Mob Rules.

That being said, the album is good, and sounds like Sabbath - minus the drums.

"do you think 13 is a number one album because..."

Take a look at the production credits and you'll see the same team-leader that handed Jay-Z a platinum pre ship.

Another thing to consider is that no.1 no longer means you are selling gobs of stuff. It just means you beat out everyone else to the top of a melting ice cap.

Rubin made a name for himself long before Jay Z by founding Def Jam and is more commonly associated w/ names like Run DMC, Public Enemy, Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica to name only a few.

Black Sabbath and Ozzy sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. The album could have been self-produced that it would have sold just as well given the material they came up w/.

Now, charts are just charts. What No 1 means is subject to debate. But Sabbath taking the top spot is at least as credible as anything else. Those guys have been around forever and they are THE metal band.
