The Maillard Reaction

I just got some and I'm liking 'em. I had never seen them before but I've long known I wanted something like this:

Thought I'd mention it in case someone else might find them helpful.

Don't they (or things similar) come as standard on new mic stands?

Yes, they do, but most have less threads so you have to twist them tighter to get them to hold, but because they have less material they are hard to grab and twist.

Also, on many occasions I have "borrowed" from one stand to use 2 on another. After a while I just wished I had some spares, and I was hoping the spares would be an upgrade to the ones included.

Done and Done.

They'll be especially useful with stereo bars that are cantilevered out over stuff.

all the best,
mike
