I use to use Reason everyday along with Sonar 6 through 8.5.
Then came X1 and X2 and I barely use reason anymore. ;)

After Reason evolved from being a wonderfull Re-Wired synth rack into a full DAW I've lost interest. I still wish we could buy Reason without the audio bit...

Oh well....

pretty much like project M... instead of reason doing what it should be doing well.. they are trying to make it into a DAW... remember all the "reason rack" adverts ?

a lot of the maybe 2 updates seem to be re-using code from the defunct "record"

they have a suggested features bit on the forum.. they never listen to them and do their own thing..

recycle should be an amazing editor with batch processing OR a fully blown audio editor.. did they do that ? NO

they should get sound designers like eXode doing sounds for synths like the cakewalk ones etc

This is the only place where I have ever heard of people complaining about Reason evolving into a more full featured DAW. Everyone else on the net is saying its about damn time. Not that I disagree with you guys I wish Reason would have remained a soft synth but if they are going to make it into a full on DAW which I thought they were going to when they released Record then this is a great update for anyone who only uses Reason. I will continue to rewire Reason into Live. On a side note has Cakewalk fixed the issue with loop recording while using rewire in X2 yet? That's one of the major things that have kept me from upgrading Sonar X1

most people who wanted a fully blown DAW used a main host for mixing (at least) years ago.. that ship sailed long ago.

that still is the case, most of their featured artists will probably say they mix in another program for the final mix down.. I know at least one stated that

i do sadly feel it's a rather lazy upgrade

I would feel it was a lazy upgrade if I had a rewire host too. This is all features that have been requested numerous times on their user forums though.

I requested far better features years ago, that'd take 5-10% of the effort.. they don't listen.. so I gave up.

e.g you rewire.. lemme load up another default song.. .. simple "stuff" like that makes a difference and is transparent.

watch my post on there, the fan boi's will accuse me of being a troll etc.. they did that last time I hooked up something props didn't do (64 bit) ... well funny, as none of them were object and rewired / were clueless to comment and lived in reason-world

You have always been able to change the default song. I load an empty template every time I open Reason. Reason 6 is 64 bit. I understand that you made requests as an individual but keep in mind that Reason is a one size fits all kind of software. Not everyone will get everything they want in one update or even several. And yes I could see them saying you are a troll. Depending on how you came off to them at least. Its no different here. If I go into the Producer/X1 section here and start talking about something is wrong with Sonar I will get 40 replies that blame my computer.

i know you can change the default.. but sometimes I work on it's own.. sometimes I work rewired.. I want it to be smart enough to know, without me doing anything..  since it does slave itself to whatever DAW you have it hooked up to. so it should do same again with template.

I use 2 daws and reason.. so nothing is perfect.. if it was , and whoever got it SO right, they'd take all the custom.. even in ST days people were moaning about cubase or creator same sorta way.
