Too rich for my blood!  They are loosing business with this price point.  I had been waiting for K9 and hoped that there would be some new instruments.  I can live without Battery4 as I never use Battery3.  Like others have said, $649 for me to upgrade from K7 to K9ultimate is not going to work for me.  Previously it was only $499 for the upgrade.

I will wait for a sale.  And if that sale happens to be for Kontakt 5 first, then I will buyKontakt5 and just forget about K9.

What were they thinking?  They skipped a year, kept us waiting, and for what?  No real new additions?

IMO, forget the Kplete.9 Ultimate, instead I might go for Kplete.9, and the upgrade is $149, 

.... But for newbies it's $559 for Kplete.9, in that case there might be a sale in future?, should I hold my breath?

Another option, wait for Kontakt.5 but I think it might sell for $499 rather than $399?, oh well I'll wait and then weigh up the options. 

Sometimes it'd best to wait, don't rush, take your time, be patient, weigh up all the pros and cons, make sure the sharks and crocs aren't around, see if Shirley has a greater offer and then take the dive. 

Hmmm... pretty much the only thing that really sparks my interest here is the announcement of Battery 4. I love Battery 3 and can't wait to get the upgrade. As for the rest of it - I have most of what I'm interested in. But I have to say. Komplete 9 Ultimate is a pretty sweet package!!!! If I had the dough, I'd might have jumped on that one just to get the sample libraries.

I'm waiting to see Battery 4. If the interface has been changed or some cool features added, it would be worth my $149 upgrade cost. 

Look at the Battery 4 product page.  new kits (70 kits?) added, new effects and a new interface.

Battery is about way more than electronic drums. It's about whatever drums you want. You can drag samples from anywhere into the cells and make a kit. As an all purpose drum machine it's great. You could make thousands of kits from the free samples you have installed from Cakewalk. And there are many acoustic kits that come with Battery - you can also mix and match all of the samples in all of the kits to make new kits. 


The only thing lacking in Battery IMO is some kind of sequencer. I'm kind of interested in something like Geist for that. 

as someone who stood on Komplet 7 and passed on Komplete 8 this looks pretty good.

A 149 upgrade to Komplete 9 is pretty good.   I think I will get this update, but the ultimate is too much for me.
