In the Sept. issue of Guitar World there is a picture and short
about a guitar built be a guy if Florida.
I talked with him on and off and watched him piece that thing together.
Pretty cool that he was noticed.
The full page dragons inlay if you see it.

Is it the guy that built Jerry a guitar?

He's built very few...maybe 10 and I don't know how many he has sold or to who.

I hated that he sold the dragons...it was his first but I understand why he did.

I don't know Mike.

Here is the build thread.
Better than anything the mag would do anyway LOL.

Cripe liked to make his own fireworks as well as guitars and was killed in an accident in 1996.

Hi Drew,
Yes, reading that now... I've only sort of known that he was down south and made a few guitars. I was surprised to learn of how it ended, being from down there I can only comment that it seems almost typical.

Hi Spacey,
 Thanks for the link.

They said he got $17.000.00 for it.

I'm glad I kept my mouth shut....
I almost asked him when he finished about the center-line....
photos can be deceiving but my eyes told me then and they tell me
now that he missed.
I also wasn't convinced the pups where squared up either.
If it can't be seen....good. I'm not going to elaborate.

You're welcome Mike.

Yep, they don't look square to me either in that photo.

Spacey,
If you ever ask me to photo your guitars I'll be sure to use a long lens that has near zero spherical distortion so that it all looks straight and great.

 :-)

 best regards,
mike
