I wish I was cover art.
The closest I've gotten was mug shots.

LOL!

If you're good, you get included on the Post Office's Greatest Hits though.

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate.

I finally had a chance to listen to the album last night. I didn't know what to expect and that's exactly what the album proved to be - unexpected. A total departure from the show. Different arrangements, different mixes and all. That being said, my wife's performances on the album are absolutely brilliant. Some of the very best vocals she has ever recorded.

Krist, I just noticed on the Cirque du Soleil website that the Alegria (July 2013) and Quidam (January 2014) shows are coming to the UK (London).

Do you know if there are any plans to bring over your wife's show to our shores? I'd love to get some free tickets go and see it

I'd LOVE to see England - it's always been a dream of mine. While we were in Russia, we heard rumors that maybe we'd be heading there after the summer of 2012, but they eventually settled for Vegas. While it's not entirely impossible that the show goes back on the road, I guess we'll be here in Vegas for a couple of years.

But if ever, I promise I'll do my best to get you tickets! ;)

CD will ship 7/23 or 23/7, depending on where you live.

In all honesty, I prefer the original versions, which they play in the show - though there are a couple of nice little things.

I feel that the composer should have left the songs alone, but, having to revisit the material for the Xth time, I guess he felt the need to express his artistic integrity and to give priority to his creativity. You know how some people insist on trying to be original and to express their creativity at all cost...

So he re-arranged/re-mixed/Pro Tools-ed everything - and heavily abused plug-ins in the process. In the end, to my ears, that is what it sounds like - like a Pro Tools engineer going Gung Ho.

IMHO, they should have recorded the regular tracks and offered what's on this CD as a bonus.

BUT: My wife's vocals are stunning, no matter how you cut and paste and eq and distort everything around it. ;)

I don't think I've ever heard or seen anything from Cirque that was not top notch in every way possible.

Link to a preview:  http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows/zarkana/show/about.aspx  click the "preview" button, and see the lovely Ms Rain and the many other talented performers. Looks like a superb show.

Congrats to you both!!!

Wow! That gave me goose bumps! I'd love to see that!

I could have been going to Vegas this summer actually... stupid bureaucracy prevented that!

Will the album be available on iTunes and such? That seems to be the only place to find Cirque albums over here. I've been addicted to the Allgria album for quite some time, amongst others.

Awesome! Congrats! I'll have to check it out the next time I go to Vegas. Living in Salt Lake I have friends go there every few weeks.

Nice preview.  Too bad they don't do anything tricky in it though...

I guess since she graces the cover they didn't feel the need to put more than 0.13 seconds of Cassiopee in that preview!

Thanks, guys. I think it's one of the good shows, honestly. Though the stunning visuals and are there and though there are glimpses of the typical "visual poetry" as I call it, the show itself is less artsy and more dramatic - it was written as some kind of rock opera, and it was written especially for Broadway, so it is different.

Craig - actually, there's a bit more than 0.13 seconds; besides the Spider Lady featured on the CD, she plays and sings the part of the Snake Lady which we see quite a bit of in this preview;

Suspended behind the high wire in this shot, with her serpent dress running to the ground through a trap:

Close up:

She plays and sings the part of Lia, the lady in red which we see briefly once or twice in this preview:

She plays and sings the part of the Mandragora - which I didn't spot in this one -

And she also does the voice for the pickled lady, an animated character which we can also see in the preview.

So there's actually quite a bit of her. But never enough. ;)

Marius: I don't know yet but I will keep you posted. :)
