How I see it; I think I should not have looked.

I went to see what Les Paul Standards sell for on ebay's used market and I found out that after 64 bids this lovely little axe sold for $711:

Don't worry... this is not some worn out used guitar that needs repair... this sweet heart is "new".

Best of all this is one of those extra special guitars that slipped out of the factory with the name brand label installed upside down:

Even if your friends don't think your new guitar is all that special at least everyone will know it's very rare.

The best part, and I think the suave buyers will appreciate this, it came with a sweet HardShell Case worth $100 give or take.

Oh my.

:-)

I've always wanted a CES 400. I settled for those 2 Heritage 575s, but I have to admit the guitar in that photo looks real nice.

I have never felt like I can afford a CES 400, but it seems to me like there must be several million people on the planet that can buy one with their chump change.

I'd like a D'Angelico New Yorker too... but I've settled for dreaming about that one. :-)

Vintage Gibson archtops are very affordable. They are expensive but I've seen originals sell for the same price as reissues. If you have the money for a repro you really should look at the vintage market. The repro guitars seem to devalue like driving a new car off the lot.

What got me to have a custom guitar made was looking at a Gibson Neal Schon Signature guitar that cost even more than the CES 400 in your link ($9,000+).  What a waste...
