Hi Larry
You know I'm sure this is not the first Vocaloid Female - I seem to remember a few years ago trying the initial vocaloid software and I'm sure it was an alleged female! The original software was so difficult to use and the technology was obviously in its initial stages, the program I tried was basically unusable.
I had a quick listen to the demos - emmm, perhaps getting better I think I would mark them as!

I do think the idea is a good one, but it still sounds as if they are a long way off making it a practical product for anything other than a novelty type market - what do you think?
Cheers
Nigel

This is the first English vocaloid female apparently. I dunno, I've only heard one dude from this technology. But it says on the site:

"Introducing AVANNA the first English singing female Vocaloid3 voice!"

I'm not too impressed. It's better but still sounds like Vocaloid and it usually sends shivers down my spine (the bad ones) when used to replace a real singer. For data-voices, it's still the best I would say

It's the first Vocaloid3 voice that has those other properties. There have been English vocaloids since version 1. I listened to some demos of Avanna and Yamaha is getting better, but unless you bury the voice in effects, it still sounds very strange.

Regards,
Dan
