Has anyone here researched CDBaby-PRO, publishing administration deal..?
I'd be interested in your impressions... http://members.cdbaby.com/pro.aspx

Frank my quick take...didn't research it but read enough.
Why not? If I were pushing a CD I'd want to see what would happen.
I've wasted a hell of lot more money than that trying to make music...lol...what's another 100. Who knows?...may get some of it back which is more than I say for the other stuff I've wasted money on.

Westside Steve
that about sums it up. I went for Pro for my recent CD, haven't figured out if it's worth it yet or not.

Thanks for the input... I signed up my latest album last month with Cdbaby-PRO, and I've yet to see any of my songs registered in BMI's Repertoire database... I was already affiliated (since 1985) with BMI as a songwriter, and as a publisher, but no "Work Titles are listed...
I didn't see any for Steve Simmons either...

Here's a read on the subject:

My cynical view on it always comes back to, they really don't have to pay (or do proper reporting/accounting) you anything until you make enough money to make it worth being able to afford to sue them. That's been my experience anyways.

As far as Spacey's take above, that's what they count on.

That said, my .0000000002c a day keeps rolling in via Spotify/cdbaby.

LOL...now all I need is a CD. You're doing something right...any money I made
with music still didn't cover what I spent.
Building guitars works the same way for me :) Gotta love 'em.

Hah. Yea, I'm probably just about even after 50 years. Amazing actually.
I always knew music had a lot to do with math.

Thanks for the link Tim... I read that interview last night, and found it interesting and enlightening...
I called CD Baby yesterday, and asked why my songs weren't listed in BMI's database yet..?
