Is there a good piece of software I can pick up that allows me to program realistic-sounding guitars to show the guys in my band riff ideas? I used to work with Music Creator 10 or more years ago, but the guitars always sounded somewhat fake. My guitar players use Drum Kit from Hell with the Sonar program and that sounds great, but I can't find anything similar for guitars anywhere...thanks. HPL

of course, they do require a certain level (IMHO... pretty freaking advanced level of skills) of keyboard playing skills to be able to get them sounding right. 

There are others as well...a google search will turn them up, but they all have pros and cons about them. 

The sampled ones will sound better, but expect to pay a premium for the better sounding ones.

Indiginus is also another one  http://www.youtube.com/wa...fE&feature=related   just be sure to understand if the synth you plan to buy is a standalone synth or if it requires a host synth..... IIRC Indiginus and some others DO require Kontakt from Native Instruments to work. Just read the site info carefully before buying something. 

  Thanks man, I checked out those links and they do seem to require a pretty high skill level...I was hoping for something more like clicking in notes onto "sheet music" like you do with some drum programs. It just seems like with the time I would spend getting used to Midi keys, I could go from amateur to respectable guitar player :). Maybe guitars are too complicated to make into a program like that?
