Just curious:
In e-book format, are the audio examples (which come on a CD with print version) immediately audible just by clicking a link/word or such?

I'm not sure. My Kindle is a Paperwhite and does not support audio. I have the Kindle APP on my phone and laptop could try it on one of those and see. I have noticed markers such as pins and arrows. I need to go back to the legend and see what each means, then I can check. Will try to do that tomorrow betweeen yardwork and cleaning out the garage... I'm sure of one thing... I will need a break!
I did download the fies from the author's website earlier today, they are over 4G of files... <deleted> began to ramble...
In case you didn't know (I didn't) there is a forum on the book website: http://www.mixingaudio.com/forum/

HTH and I will try and remember to try and check it out tomorrow.

The audio examples no longer come on a CD, you have to download them from the author's website. The examples are not playable by clicking a link on the book. However, it's really no trouble to have the folder with the audio open on the screen next to you as you're reading. I'm using Mobipocket Reader to read the book on my desktop. I don't have a standalone Kindle - I use the iPhone app to read Kindle books, and the Amazon Cloud reader to read them at home in my browser. All of your Kindle books are in the Amazon Cloud. The trouble is, I don't seem to be able to get this e-book (.mobi filetype) to show up in the Cloud Reader in my browser. The problem is that only books that you bought on Amazon automatically show up there. So doing some research, I found out that if you email the .mobi file to your Amazon email address (you'll find it in your account somewhere), it should show up in your cloud. So I did it....and it's showing up in the Kindle app on my iPhone but not in the Cloud Reader in my desktop browser. It's so annoying. It means that if I want to read the book on my phone while I'm on the go, I have to find the page I'm at on at home, and vice versa. If I could read it in the Cloud Reader in the browser then my bookmark would be constantly in sync.

What do you mean by "expensive"? I just got it for $8 on sale, although maybe that is expensive for an e-book.

I'm getting through it quite quickly. I didn't think the section on analog mixers and such would hold my interest but I actually found it fascinating. I said this in another thread but it's the perfect compliment to Mike Senior's "Mixing Secrets." Senior's book is more of a hands on approach while Izhaki's book gets into all the technical nooks and crannies to explain "why." Did you download the audio examples yet? You can get them from his website. They're essential to following the book.

No, I need to download them. I will go and look now. I figure I am going to have to buy a few albums that I wouldn't buy otherwise but I feel like I need to get an oroginal copy of Nevermind... I need to buy 20 current tracks so I can make a track to compare the mixing. I think I want to do two, one with modern, current tracks and one with songs from over the years that I like the sound of. Thanks, I figured there would be a link in the book to download clips when I need them...

To be honest when he was giving commercial mix examples early in the book (for instance Nirvana), I was just listening to the songs in YouTube. I could totally hear everything he was saying about Smells Like Teen Spirit on YouTube, especially the part about the bouncing basketball kick drum!
