Hi!

I did a forum search but most threads on these subjects seem at least 2 years old ... so I'd like to raise a question others may have asked before:

What VST plug-in is best (in terms of quality, stability and usability) for correcting vocal tracks?

I do use V-Vocal as it came with Sonar but find the interface very cumbersome. Qualitywise I've got nothing to compare to as I just own V-Vocal ...

What are your experiences?

Get Melodyne Editor... and you'll never give intonation adjustment a second thought.

FFB, I think you'd find that if a poll were taken Melodyne would be far and away the clear favorite.

V-Vocal is usable but requires care to avoid artifacts. Its advantage is the convenience of being well-integrated into SONAR. Melodyne, OTOH, will usually yield acceptable results even when applied with minimal finesse.

couldn't have said it better.

I've used both.  I prefer melodyne.  I can make v-vocal work if I need to, but since I have melodyne, why bother?

+1

However, I will say one time I was able to reduce vibrato "better" with V-Vocal over Melodyne. That was only one time I tells ya.

Thanks for your input.

I reckon I get Melodyne 2 Editor installed rather than getting deeper into V-Vocal.

Just read that it's (supposedly) either iLok or locked up to 2 DAWs. Can anyone confirm?

Is it worth getting into the iLok experience since I don't own one yet?

I had an iLok key, that I got with ProTools MP9 so it isn't a big deal associating software with iLok.  If I go to a different PC all I have to do is move the iLok to the new PC.    Some have issues with iLok (and I too think it stinks that you have to have a dongle) but it is convenient.
