Not one thing that I can think of.
Everything that I chunked and replaced turned out to be
a good move

Right now the only thing on the fence is Cakewalk.
I'll be glad to get rid of X2 and if the replacement isn't a good move
my next shot won't be with Roland. I've been patient for to long anyway.

You are absolutely correct...with X2 one is an inpatient or an outpatient.

I had a Vox Super Beatle amp that I loved! Bought it used at a music shop that I bought my only Gibson SG with a Bigsby...(I don't like the Bigsby).......

A band I was in decided that it would be cool if we all had the same amp and sound....so I sold the Vox to get the new amp......

On one hand it was cool that the people I sold the vox to was iron butterfly.......the sad thing is ...... I still miss that amp.......

Boy this is an old photo, I must have been 16-17 years old at the time.  Taken in Northern Minnesota, sitting in our speed boat in the Spring, just as the ice was about to come off, or had just come off the lake.  You can barely see it in the background.  If I remember correctly, I was prepping the boat and got tired of messing with it.

There were several guitars and amps that I have sold over the years that I wish I still had.  This was a 1963 Rick.  I just found out from the original owner a couple of years ago; the actual age of this guitar.  I found him on Face Book and shot this picture over to him.  He wished he had not sold it to me for his first Gibson Les Paul Custom; though he loves his LP.  I bought the Rick for $200 way back then.  I think I sold it for around $300 around 1988.

Another guitar that I wish I had not sold was my first Les Paul Standard in Vintage Sunburst.  I believe it was a 1983 and that I bought it my third year of college; about the time I got involve in a college band.  Oddly enough, I have never been able to find a picture of that guitar, nor do any of my buddies from college seem to have one of me with it.

I've had some shoes that fit so well that when they wore out I really missed them.

I got lucky with guitars... the older boys that taught me how to select guitars taught me to never buy one you would not want to own 30 years later.

So you sell them when they are 31 years old?

The only thing I truly miss is my Saga II Es-335 copy. Forgot I had pawned it and by the time I remembered it was too late. Probably one of the dumber things I've done in my life.

Everything else I got rid of for a reason and I really didn't need anymore. My old drums were cool but I couldn't play them or store them anymore. My SG was nice enough but wasn't worth having that much money tied up in. My old cabs and heads are too big and not worth the hassle and my current amp more than covers my needs and actually sounds better. Everything else was just junk or I still own it.

Just things, man... just things.

Sharke - It would make sense as that's when the Valvestates were around. The Master Lead above I bought used, and I have no idea exactly how old it was, but these had been around for quite a while at the time. They weren't not the type of amp which gained value w/ years however, and mine most certainly cost me less than a similar size new Valvestate would have. Most likely not more than $200.

Mike - Man, I'd love to even just try a Rick. I think I've never seen one - or then maybe one hooked up on a wall and out of reach over at Sam Ash in NY.

Beepster - The funny thing is that for most of my life, I was 100% happy w/ a totally minimalist set up: just my black strat and an amp - or even just an amp sim. After I bought that black strat, I started getting rid of things because it was my ultimate thing. I never cared for the old guitars I had gotten rid of. Some amps I did miss a bit at times, but I probably miss them more now.

I don't know what it is, but for the last year or two, I find myself really into that stuff. After basically a life of focusing on one guitar and one amp, I want guitars and different amps and even a couple of pedals. Maybe it's turning 40, maybe it's just that I finally feel like I'm home or something. But it's definitely cool. :P
