There is a remarkable difference between the example in the OP and the example offered here.
The Car Talk example offered here is a clever use of familiar syllables and it leverages some stereotypes of professions.
The example offered in the OP is a ridicule of a stereotype of the speech patterns of a population of humans that grew up speaking another language. It isn't a joke about the airline profession, it is a broad based implication that leverages a long standing and insulting stereotype based on one culture's estimation of another culture's ability to mimic its speech patterns.
It was clever, but I doubt I'd find it funny, even if it was part of a light hearted stand up comedy sketch.
Making fun of people and how they speak seems lame.
In the context of this circumstance I personally don't see how it can be funny.
