Rain
I woke up, ran downstairs to prepare some coffee and then logged into Facebook while waiting - the usual.

That's when I saw an article posted by Electronic Musician in my newsfeed w/ the words "Logic X".

The thing w/ Apple and Logic is that there's no such thing as a sneak peak or an early preview You wake up one morning after 4 years (and 2 years of naysayers arguing that Logic X will never come out) and bam it's there.

Man, that's exciting. Even if I also have to upgrade my OS in order to use Logic X and even if it'll be a little while.

And then, there's the little practice amp I'm expecting :

Anyway, just me being my usual grateful self again.

Just got Spock's Beard X last week.  Thought mentioning it would kind of come full circle between Rain's post and Steve's.

So Christmas in July for Rain!  Noice.

That's if Mr. UPS guy ever arrives. I guess they mean it when they say by end of day.
Not a minute before...

Heck I was excited to read the news about Logic X this morning on my news feed, and I have never used it and have no intention of ever getting a Mac.

I seriously don't know how soon I'll be able to upgrade - but I guess that leaves Apple a bit of time to iron out a couple of bugs which may show up as w/ every new release. Functionality wise, I'm not seeing much that I actually need and cannot do w/ version 9 - I've said it before, 9 still stand pretty much toe to toe w/ the competition. I don't use pitch correction and Superior Drummer isn't likely to be replaced - though I'm intrigued by that new drum plug-in. The bass amp plug-in could potentially mean that I can get rid of Amplitube, which I keep installed solely for SVX.

But I'm anxious nonetheless.

Oh, and Mr. UPS guy finally showed up a few minutes before 7 pm. I'm having a blast w/ the little Marshall - there's an immediacy to it,  especially for someone who's spend the best of the last 10 years w/ amp sims and modeling amps. I realize how much I love Marshalls, whether it's tubes or solid state - they're the amps I've played the most in my life. I felt at home right away.

Another little amp to look out for is the Mini-Recto (10 watt & 25 watt with a switch).

HERE'S a sample of someone in one of my other forums (though I believe he also posts here sometimes as well) using the Vintage channel. This is a short sample of the first song that will be from his next CD.  I'm liking this tone a lot!

That mini recto sounds very good! Though it should as it costs 10 times as much as my little practice amp. ;)
Someday if I get the work permit and start taking gigs, maybe... :P

I just did a couple of test using the speaker emulation on the new amp and it's probably the best I've heard so far - I like it better than the one on the Blackstar and better than the one on the Line 6 Spider.
