AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! That's better.

Planning on calling Focusrite tomorrow as have a feeling I have a faulty Scarlett 8i6 device. It was working fine the last few weeks through monitors, however now I try and listen through headphones and I get the left side only - nothing at all on the right.

I have tried a clean install and used different headphones and still nothing on the right.

As a bit of a newbie, just wanted to throw it out there to see if someone else has had this problem before, and if it was an easy fix? Imagine it will be a faulty headphone port but no harm in asking here first incase I'm being a plum.

Thanks

*On settings, I can't remember what I had them before as clean install, but now they are as follows:
Guitar plugged into input 1
On Mic 2 (tab)
Input - Anlg In 1
Master input - Line HP L & R
Line output 3 & 4 - Mix 1 (mono) and also tried Mix 1 L & R

No problem with my 18i6. But you know, sometimes it could just be something unusual. I just updated drivers for mine this month, and firmware. Make sure you're all up to date with firmware, too [it get's written directly to your hardware interface].

I just got an 18i6 last week mainly for extra inputs. I was using an Emu 1212m. So far I'm mainly putting all outputs to Mix1 left and Mix1 right. I'm also using the spdif output to my monitors. The only time I've had a problem with one side only playing is having the outs both on left or right.

Try going to File menu > Clear All Settings.  Then go File > Restore Factory Defaults.  Also, if your headphones use an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, try another adapter as they fail quite easily.  If neither of these restore proper output to your headphones, please contact Focusrite support via phone or email.

Hey Matt, does 'Restore Factory Defaults' roll back the firmware by any chance?

How about what are you listening to? Do you get the same result of one channel when listening to iTunes?  If you have stereo on that playback it's probably your out put settings within Sonar.

Thanks for the input guys. I did end up calling Focusrite last night (may have even been you I spoke to Matt. Maybe?) Went through all different settings and sound sources and no such luck, looks like a duff unit.

Being picked up today to be repaired (was 2 weeks outside replacement window). fortunately, I have my old Line 6 UX2 laying round still so can use that to lay down some guide tracks for the 2-4 weeks I'm without the 8i6.

Thanks again
