Waves just told me that the mid-month specials will be out tomorrow...

Nothing for V-Day...they said their current specials ARE the V-Day specials...

I FINALLY took the plunge and upgraded my 32 bit NI (YES - NI) Symphonic Orchestra Silver to the SoundsOnline East West Silver for $49...half price...I've been putting that off for far too long...I will FINALLY have a 64 bit Orchestra...I didn't need it...but it was time....and Miroslav....MMMMMMM...is also STILL 32 bit...So at least I'll have one 64 bit Orchestra Plugin...
I think this IK Sale is the predecessor of the ST 3, etc....release..
build your clients...then pull out the big guns...probably too late though...
they should be GIVING it away at this point...And all I have to say...is ST 3 better be ONE HELLUVA program...because IK has waited FAR TOO LONG to get this done...FAR FAR TOO LONG....

Given how little I use the IK 32-bit synths (I have them all) I have to agree Larry. ST3/etc better blow me away because TBH I'm used to KONTAKT now (I know that's blasphemy) and I'm not about to shell out (pun intended) even $49 per synth unless it does some spectacular things. And I certainly DO NOT just mean a larger GUI.

Have to agree completely Baps....

I LOVE Kontakt....it's not the greatest...but it's SUPPORTED....REGULARLY...and sounds great.

So ST 3 better be some butt stompin' whip dee doo of a Sampler...and the upgrade better be CHEAP.

Might remember that a few months ago I tried to move my SampleTank Instrument samples to a different hard drive and ended up having to re-install and re-auhorize everything from scratch because even the authorization manager would give me problems?

Well, same thing happened a few days ago, this time when I tried to select a different sample directory from within SampleTank.

Didn't work.

I should have known better, but, SampleMoog, SampleTron and the others all give me the same issue when trying to load patches - they just freeze for a while after the patch is loaded, and it takes longer and longer as you start to browse through different patches, which is a bit of a pain.

SampleTank doesn't exhibit the issue, so, I was hoping to use it to play SampleTron and the others. But that didn't work. It'd just freeze.

But when I tried to revert to the original directory, I started getting messages that my 10 days demo period had expired.

I guess I would have been in for a couple of hours of downloading software, re-installing, updating the authorization manager again and again for no reason.

BUT, internet was down. And, in retrospective, thank Buddah!

That was the nail in IK's coffin. I'M done w/ them. DONE.

Jumping through such hoops in order to be able to access old and average libraries, most of which won't even hold a candle to the free instruments/samples I get bundled w/ my DAW, software that freezes, an un-readable GUI, buggy authorization scheme?

Yeah, right. Man I almost wish I had a physical copy of that software so that I could really give it a proper trashing.

All I need is a new mellotron and something to replace Miroslav w/.

Same here and now I've gotten into Alchemy so I think IK will be way too late in the game for me.

I hope IK Obi is reading this thread and reporting these comments to the product managers at IK. They could benefit from knowing this, IMHO (speaking as a past VP of software development I *needed* to know these types of comments from my customer base).

I would, but they prefer to tend to ur own community on the IK forums for feature requests and suggestions. The GUI was seen by a few people at NAMM this last month, so it is indeed coming....
