Might remember that a few months ago I tried to move my SampleTank Instrument samples to a different hard drive and ended up having to re-install and re-auhorize everything from scratch because even the authorization manager would give me problems?
Well, same thing happened a few days ago, this time when I tried to select a different sample directory
from within SampleTank. Didn't work.
I should have known better, but, SampleMoog, SampleTron and the others all give me the same issue when trying to load patches - they just freeze for a while
after the patch is loaded, and it takes longer and longer as you start to browse through different patches, which is a bit of a pain.
SampleTank doesn't exhibit the issue, so, I was hoping to use it to play SampleTron and the others. But that didn't work. It'd just freeze.
But when I tried to revert to the original directory, I started getting messages that my 10 days demo period had expired.
I guess I would have been in for a couple of hours of downloading software, re-installing, updating the authorization manager again and again for no reason.
BUT, internet was down. And, in retrospective, thank Buddah!
That was the nail in IK's coffin. I'M done w/ them. DONE.
Jumping through such hoops in order to be able to access old and average libraries, most of which won't even hold a candle to the free instruments/samples I get bundled w/ my DAW, software that freezes, an un-readable GUI, buggy authorization scheme?
Yeah, right. Man I almost wish I had a physical copy of that software so that I could really give it a proper trashing.
All I need is a new mellotron and something to replace Miroslav w/.
