Plugin Alliance is having a promo to honor the launch of their USA online store. Use the code "SPLUSALAUNCH" to save $50 on all SPL products

BTW, it's a bit confusing because the SPL website says that the code grants $50 for every order above $500 and that it is not good for software, but the email that I received from Plugin Alliance says that they are honoring it for any SPL software purchase until April 1st (no joke). I just tested the code on some of the $59 plugins (Attacker, De-verb, Mo-verb) and, sure enough, you can get them $9 each.  Those three plugins essentially comprise their renowned Transient Designer ($199 retail, $149 with the discount), and you can have all three of them for $28.

Yes, you need a Plugin Alliance account and, no, iLok is not required (good catch, backwoods).

Yeah, you're right.  I'm thinking of the old SPL policy.  Good catch.

Just bought all 3 for $20.25.  Additional discount when you purchase all at once.  No-brainer ... impulse buy.  Thanks for the tip, cryophonik!

Cheers,
Eddie

Whoa - that's a steal!  I already have the SPL Transient Designer, otherwise, I'd be buying those 3.

Too bad about the iLok. I read the user manuals for the De-Reverb and Attacker effects, which says that they're lifted from the SPL Transient Designer. I read that to mean that for $18 you can have the equivalent of the Transient Designer ($199). The manual said nothing about an iLok requirement, nor did the product descriptions.

I just figured that out...from the FAQ:

No more USB dongle and no more hardwaer card needed to use our plugins at all.
]We got rid of all hardware dongles and offer our own software based hassle-free license management system now.
Our system simply requires ONE license file which covers ALL of your Alliance plugins.
This file gets copied to your music computer, that´s it.

Anyone have any additional information on or experience with their authorization scheme? I sure don't want to get mixed up in any more Waves-type might-fail-at-any-moment BS.

EDIT:
Hmm, I read a little further and found this:
If you need your plugins on CHANGING computers / live consoles all the time we propose you use our new USB STICK ACTIVATION. You may have the license file and your installers on one standard USB stick which you may use to activate computers / live consoles "on the fly".

That sounds susp iciously like the Waves scheme. I have a feeling that if you upgrade your motherboard these plugins stop working until you re-authorize them. No thanks.
