I recently swapped my buddy for his Fender 1996 Anniversary Deluxe Tele Custom MIJ with a beautiful (but goofy) "foto flame" finish and a bigsby tailpiece.  I love the neck, the bigsby and the feel and build of the thing but I'm replacing all the electronics and pups.  I've decided (unless convinced otherwise) to go with Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 pro tele bridge and strat middle and neck.  But, as I'm not accustomed to the "guts" replacement, I'd like to get anyone who knows more (Spacey!!!!) to hip me on what potentiometers, caps, etc... I might need.  It's a five way switch and, as mentioned above, a triple pickup orientation.  Sell me a clue, will ya?

I'm stayin with two.  Although you can actually crowd three onto a standard tele plate.

3 would present an obvious choice; a 5 way switch Strat layout. I imagine you already had that figured out.

3 also lets you do a "blender" style layout easily.

How about 2 knobs with one as a concentric dual pot knob for the "blend"? It might be too deep for the cavity, but it might be tre chic if it fits.

What's a "blender style layout"?

(I like the "cream" setting best on mine, but "shred" does come in handy on occasion.)
