I'm just in it for the gear.  I love all the shiny lights.

Well said Bubba and a very humbling realisation.

At least you had a choice of going up/down/sideways/bacwards......I'm not as lucky and have no where else to go but UP!! :)

Like Dirty Harry said "man must know his limitations".....eat BECAN and stay positive!!

Yes, indeed, Mesh.  We create for ourselves and our own enjoyment.  If other people eventually find our work and enjoy it, that's great.  For many of us, the approval of others cannot be our goal.

The enjoyment of becan, however, is a good place to start.

All Becan aside, Bubba that was well written.
May the season's change in your favor.....

And Craig, yeah the shiny lights ARE cool...

I'm in a similar position and what doesn't help is that I know by the Autumn, I have to totally re-model my small space, completely redecorate and hopefully offload my Spirit Studio desk to accommodate something a lot smaller.

None of this helps to get creative juices flowing, the rut is beckoning with open arms

Jonesey, maybe this change will afford you the opportunity to shed a different light on it all and hit music from a bit of a different angle.
One thing steps aside to make room for another.
If none of that pans out though I will be sure to save some room in 'the Rut' for you! Lol
It seems many of us visit there.

You know when I was unemployed for 7 months I found I was very creative in the studio. Try quitting your job! : )

Now Lead that is 'outside the box thinking'.
Very impressive.

Also posting this in the songs forum.  1st time out for me posting a song of mine.
not sure what to expect but keeping an open mind.
It has been quite enjoyable getting back in the studio and working/playing.

All the input and similar experiences in this thread really helped me put it in perspective.
I thank you all for that.

Hope you like the tune.
Written about 5 years ago and re-recorded about 1 year ago.
Now I'm just trying to mix it. (hardest part).
The good news is that my lack of mixing ability is offset by my poor musicianship...
