...and went back to a corded mouse.  No matter what wireless/usb mouse (or which brand) I tried i'd get hang ups, slow downs, sketchy behavior and disappearing cursors.  I've been using the corded one all this last weekend and have had not one single problem.  Fast, accurate and easy peasy.  Still hate the cord though.

I just ordered a Logitech G700 wireless mouse which has 13 programmable buttons and planned on using with X2/gaming......

I'm going to move the receiver and if that doesn't correct the bad I'll be
going back to cord too.

my wireless mouse and keyboard work flawlessly.

Yoropal - I wonder if it could be the USB bus/port it is on?
That certainly CAN make a difference in USB performance.
I encountered that before.

I hate wires...

I have found the wireless receiver has to be pretty close and not in whatever constitutes a "bad location" to be dependable.

There seems to be more "bad locations" in my studio than elsewhere, perhaps due to interference from the, um, preponderance of (very important and necessary!) gear I've acquired over the years.

Maybe you've got the wrong cordless mouse?

I've had the same problems with numerous cordless mouses.  I went back to corded mouse for several years now.
