Some of those jazz presets are useless.

They start off cool but then start going in weird long ass loops that don't even really make sense. If I want to change my root chord I can bloody well hit another key on my controller. lol

I guess I don't understand arpeggiators so well. I always thought they were supposed to do something with the notes that are in the piano roll, but a lot of those presets just seems to fly off into what I can only describe as Chick Corea on PCP. 

Well the notes in the PRV would just behave like a key being hit on a controller. I could just program the notes in PRV so they cut off the previous note before things go wacky but at that point I might as well just program my own arpeggio and copy/paste it. I just want to hit a key, let it flop around the root chord for a while then at the appropriate spot hit another key to change the chord. There are programs like that in there but the cooler ones literally try to play what seems like a whole song. I guess that counts as song writing these days.

Strangely enough, Googling the phrase "Chick Corea on PCP" brings up nothing of note, except this thread. 

Probably because Herbie kept the stuff all to himself, ya?
